Portrait of Hawaii | Shot on the BMPCC and Mavic Pro
Earlier this year we decided to take a break for 2 weeks and go explore the islands of Hawaii.
We usually travel during winter, or to mountainous locations so this was a change and we absolutely loved it.
The landscapes are stunning, the food is amazing and the fact that you can go from a turquoise beach to a mountain top at 10,000 ft in 2 hours is just crazy.
In 2 weeks we got to swim, hike, drive around the most beautiful roads and witness ever changing scenery.
Hawaii is a place that we will keep revisiting, until then Aloha.

2:47 is probably my favorite shot. There's so many great shots and I'm conflicted as to why, but something about the music and the dreariness of the rain mixed with the depth of the shot down the road just.. ugh I could stare at it forever.
beautiful footage but i am noticing a huge difference between the softness of the bmpcc4k footage and the sharpness of drone footage. Was that a stylistic choice to have the bmpcc footage that soft or is that simply how the footage looks out of the camera? would hope for something a bit more crisp, yet still filmic
By the way, what filmconvert stock did you use?
And did you use nd filters ?
great stuff, you got a new subscriber.
Beautiful work!
Well, my friend… subscribed! Also is most of your shooting here handheld with the BMPCC?
how did you get the anamorphic look with no black boxes?
FUC***G BEAUTIFUL
This fukiinnng awesome music is dope! after your cool videos and this instrumental Piano music, I feel inspired and start to produce something like this music, I tried.. but it's not so emotional, but after this video I think that I will try harder :))
Loved the cinematic language you used to revisit the pacific islands. Looks and sounds very refreshing to me. Thank you!
I love the pocket camera shots, they make me feel the elements … not so sure about the drone-shots, i mean they´re beautiful, but too clean and (artificial?) sharp for my taste … would love to see a "bmpcc-only cut" 😉
Cheers, Jochen
You have some absolutely unreal drone shots here! You should totally share your stunning drone shots over at Airvuz!! AirVuz is one of the best places for viewing and sharing drone videos on the internet! You gotta go check AirVuz out!
Great footage and well edited! Once again I have to thank you for the native 2.35.1 format and not using black boxes. You should really get a gimbal so it would fit in better with the drone footage!
Can't f… wait till I get my hands on this camera
Nice footage! But the image quality of the Blackmagic looks like VGA compared to the drone footage on the 4K monitor.
What lenses did you use with the original pocket?
Great!
superb work done….keep it up guys…i am amazed at the quality of images that this camera can produce…truly cinematic!!
Can't wait to go back to this beautiful place again :). Hope you enjoy it !!
This is also our last video shot on our original BMPCC, missing this little guy.
Cheers,
Flo
