Finally, an in-depth video on the Arca Swiss F-Line view camera. I go into the design of the F-Line cameras in general and my particular F-Line “Basic” model in detail.

A initially learned photography as a kid shooting black & white then developing the photos in a dark room, that was a magical time and sparked my interest in photography. As I got older I dabbled in digital photography but wasn't until my kids were born that i really started to get an active interest back in it all.

is this camera **YAW** free, sir.???
because i am using SINAR f2
thanks and regards.
nice video, there are no detents on the shift because this movement is used to change formats, as you say in the video; however detents work by a spring with a ball bearing in front of it, if in this case you removed the format frame, the ball / spring would fly out and probably be lost forever in your carpet, or in the grass outside, hence why they probably went without it on this movement. ( P.S.: sorry if you were upset about my other comments, Yes i meant the pack-back polaroid, so very sorry for all the trouble you went through with that single back holder- thought no one used them nowdays.)
Great video, thanks for introducing the Arca Swiss.
I've had my eye on them but have a feeling that I just wouldn't get enough frames out of one to justify the purchase.
For now, I'm happy to live vicariously through your GAS attack, though I am mindful that GAS is contagious!
Mike,
Curious why you'd use a ballhead on LF? Seems a pan+tilt head would give the operator much more control as they refined the camera's positioning.
That camera is BOSS!
Mike, Mike why do you tease us with this toys? Now I want one lol
Nice Video! I have a 4×5 f metric and i love it! I haven't had much time with it as things have gotten busy for me at work. The one thing that keeps bugging me is that the format frames are at the lowest position and so you basically get rise only and not fall. So i'm going to be setting up the camera in the center so i can have rise and fall as well.

That is a beautiful camera! Have you tried any color film yet?
Mike, beautiful camera, simplicity is the key in the design and engineering. Is this replacing your Horseman?
If I was to go large format this is the camera I would get, right now my Mamiya Pro TL 645 is what I can handle
And still 35mm in film. Great video!
Die Arca-Swiss International ist in Besançon in Frankreich ansässig.
Damn you Mike! 😉 After this awesome review I really want a 4×5 😀
Thank you Mike, it is interesting how you see the value of the cameras. Did you prefer the Arca Swiss for outside work, or is it better to buy a wood camera? What was the reason that you dint bought a Sinar P2 for the same price?
You 'you tubers' have ruined me, now I'm shooting film again 35, 120 and 45 and pano's 6×17 film I'm glad old camera's are cheater than when I was younger or maybe I make more money than before. Thanks for the help!!!! .
Curse you, Mike! I don't need any more hobbies!!!
Great review. Thanks.
