Wedding Photography – How Many Photos Should You Deliver?

36 44

My thoughts on how many photos to deliver as a wedding photographer. Day 26 of the course! On to editing tomorrow. I know I lied in yesterdays video and said today was on to editing, but I figured this was an important topic to cover first.

😎❤️🇨🇦 Do you have to get your shutter replaced. I've had to on my D750.

  7. RJ Bradbury Photography says

A good number. I shoot around 1500-2000 on a wedding and deliver 400-600 depending. My 2nd shooter shoots around 1000 when we work together so the delivered number moves a little.

I know people who shoot 8000-15000 images or more which frankly is ridiculous.

  8. Mike Rivera says

How do you deliver images to your clients? If they print your already edited files do you tell them to print the raw files or jpgs?

  9. Stephen Mason says

I've got to laugh: When I began in photographyin the 1980's including Weddings, the norm was 12 – 24 – 36 or 48 shots! This was based on 12 exposure film lengths! Usually depending on how much the couple could afford, or how much interuption would be tolerated? Occasionally we would be asked to complet 60 shots, but this would require an assistant to be working away from the main Photographer! Of course each shot was unique and usuable in the Album if selected, and not just backups! Most Churches did not allow the Wedding ceremony be interupted, and only before and after shots were tollerated! Catholic Churches DID allow more freedom of movement, but not too much! S. Do you have price packages? If yes (or no xD) can you talk about it a bit?

Sony's Canadian pro support does still need some work. I'm currently in a mess of trying to get a lens fixed by them. It's with them for repairs for a third time now, because they have yet to actually fix it. They've sent me a loaner one of those times, and are currently sending me another loaner for this coming weekend. The first time I sent it in, they sent me the wrong shipping label the first time. So I had to race back to the depot before it got on a plane for the wrong city. The second time I sent it in, the shipping label they sent me was wrong the first, second, and third times. I've probably spent at least 8 hours dealing with this one repair thus far. Ugh.

  15. HS HASNY says

Do u edit all 700 images?
How many albums do u give & images?

  16. Vincent Mercier says

Omg 700 photos delivered! Thats nuts! I aim for quality not quantity. I aim for 250, more then 300 would confuse clients in my opinion.

  17. Aloysius Calvin says

so you take the photos and then you send them instead you edit yourself ?
    wao.. ok

  18. Ramon Olthof says

I dont think a full wedding edit… is boring… maybe a livestream or timelapse?

  19. Amanda Daniels says

Thanks for this! I deliver in your range and people always tell me it's too much. So now I feel better. Lol. I did a vow renewal a few weeks ago for 5 hours and delivered 550 & on a photography group on FB I got so much shit. Lol. I feel like I need to tell the story and it's their story not mine, so why keep great images away from them? That's my motto. Their memories not mine. So thanks for making me feel better! PS, so glad you're getting a haircut. 😂

  20. EdBareff says

I think it really depends on your photography style. Some shoot proper journalism where you should deliver 600+ photos to tell an emotional and deep story. Some people are making 1-2 stunning OMG nice photos in 1 location and move forward to make couple more 1-2 omg photos. In this case, you can deliver 200+ photos. Anyways guys, stay with your style and listen to your self at the end of the day it is YOUR photography and your style 😉
