The Angry Photographer: Nikon MUST HAVE accessory(s) for MACRO, TIME-EXPOSURE, & ASTRO WORK

Nikon MC-DC2 for Nikon D90, D3100, D3200, D3300, D5000, D5100, D5200, D5300, D7000, D7100, D600, D610, Df and COOLPIX P7700, COOLPIX P7800, COOLPIX A

Nikon MC-30A for Nikon DSLRs: D3, D3s, D3x, D4, D200, D300, D300s, D700, D800, and D800E.

I have wireless triggers too, but they have issues with focus and fast repeat macro shots, also do NOT trust them on long astro photography. !

**********Also i dont want everything i use to need a BATTERY UP ITS ASS!

Yes, never buy these NEW RETAIL, theyre always 80% cheaper grey market on Ebay

Omg a case of tangerines… You have much more than 13 bodies ;).

I have the MC-DC2 and a set of Yongnuo RF603N II 2.4Ghz wireless triggers. I use the MC-DC2 for long exposure stuff over 30 sec. And the RF603N II for just about everything else. For the money I think the RF603N II was an excellent buy and I'm pretty picky.

Dammit, now I want tangerines. If you could buy tangerines on Ebay, I bet you the prices would increase because of this video. Thank you Ap, you did it again. Shhhhh!

Man, can you just pretend you're a Canon guy for one video and recommend some Canon glass?!

    That's a lot of oranges.

used Nikon Nikon 70-200 f2.8, VR same price as new Nikon 80-200 f2.8 non VR or new tamron 70-200 f2.8 VR all about same price; which to buy, which sharpest/fastest?
I want it mainly for street photography & animals at the zoo (not much difference I hear you say!) or how would  the Nikon 180 f2.8 compare with those please??

do you already have a video on how to clean the mirror of our cameras? if if none, can you make one please. 🙂 i see a lot of dirt and i cannot clean it because i don't know how. only experts know. thanks.

If you had a D200 what release would you get ? There is no mirror lock up. And putting it in live view , only allows down to 1/30th. Bulb mode is what I am after..
    Still a rookie here.

What's your opinion in general about "no name" remote controllers…?
You mentioned in previous reply it's "no-no"!!! I'm just wondering because there are some remotes which are better rated on amazon than Nikon remotes…?!!
    e.g. =>  http://www.amazon.de/Qualit%C3%A4ts-Fernausl%C3%B6ser-Kabelausl%C3%B6ser-Nikon-D7100/dp/B0056XLG72/ref=sr_1_6?s=ce-de&ie=UTF8&qid=1429009574&sr=1-6&keywords=Fernausl%C3%B6ser+f%C3%BCr+Nikon

Although it's not big of a difference in price, but every $ counts ;-]

btw. what's with all that fruit man…? You gona get some hypervitaminosis… Apophasis/Hypervitaminosis …lol…just joking a bit… peace & love

What about 2-3 seconds exposure delay? Will it do the same job considering vibration? I used a cheap cable release in finnish winter, it froze and broke.

Man today I tried astral photography and I sucked 4SS 🙁 (actually there was only 3 or 4 stars on the sky) , but I tried time exposures of 10-15-20 seconds, and the sky looked yellow D; (probably because there was some yellow streetlights nearby…) You should make a video with tips for astral and night photography would be amazing 🙂

    Tangerine Dream …

  13. Jeff Koski says

You sure you are going to be able to eat all those tangerines? LOL…..
I have the quick release as well, cheap on ebay. Also got the wireless one that uses infrared and am able to get far enough to the side so it's not in the photo and have used it from about 25 feet away indoors with no problems. May be a problem out in the sunlight though.

dig your videos and I just grabbed a nikkor 135mm f2.8. I am loving this lens. Saving up for the 20mm 3.5 and tokina 100mm. Thanks for the wealth of knowledge.

I was wondering if you had a recommendation with a film camera? what are your thoughts between the nikon fm2 and the nikon f5?

  15. Jim Hill says

What about the ML-L3 wireless remote ? I picked up the Nikon model for £3.98 – about $6 – works flawlessly on my D7100.

I am loving the videos. They prompting a lot of discussions with myself and my friends. I have a question for something I would need. I have a 70-200 but I need something with a little more reach for indoor sports. Any suggestions?

  20. Ronnie Harris says

I have the Vello – FreeWave Wireless Remote Shutter Release for Nikon w/10-Pin Connection. It works great on my D800. It can be used wirelessly or wired.

I love tangerines because they come without seeds (think the seedless version is known as clementine). Walk 3 miles every day just to buy me a bag of them because it gives me a little exercise as well.
