Interesting how Andrew Holness thinks Jamaicans having a licence firearm will solve the crime problem.

Wow! anything good left in your yard?

You correctly analyzed the situation up to the point of wanting all Jamaicans to legally own guns. There is more to the story indeed, loop news did not even scratch the surface. With the incredibly low level of anger management and dispute resolution skills in Jamaica, I don’t want to imagine what would happen if more people legally owned guns.

Me feel like more to the story @souflotv cause the dj get pay to play at a wedding it wouldn't a problem fa him to even turn it down a little if it's so loud…. and now it ago even harder fa ppl like my self that own a business and want a gun to protect my own I want u to talk on that more cause u touch a real good point more legal guns the better the other day me and my friends was talking about that cause if a gun man know a area weh full a guns I'm sure he gonna think twice to enter it….but in reality some a we Jamaicans head too hot n I think fla need to educate dem a Lil more ..

I think that there is some thing in the law that allows for noise control especially after certain time at night. The person wah was being disturbed by the noise should have just call the police to intervene.

Yes its strange there are policy and rules when you hire a venue its like him just want to spoil the people them fun. So if him no want the man to play his music too loud him should a tell him when him hire the venue. If him had an open policy then him wrong fi go trouble the dj. The legal ownership of guns with training am for it but it need some work and monitring because some people got mental health and hot headed like younstated. You make a good poit abut the diterant and combating crime make sense.

IF THE VENUE IS NOT SOUND PROOF THE OWNER HAS A RIGHT TO ASK THEM TO TURN THE MUSIC DOWN! Especially if it’s disturbing the peace!! That should be in the contract! And in Europe they are Very Strict! Does not matter how much you Paid! If your music is disturbing the residents it will get shut down!

  23. Nicky Ranking says

You forgot that other people were at this venue.

What I can’t understand what was the reason a gun had to be used. Lives could of been saved and now the sound system man now dead and you were being paid to play at the wedding. I do feel the person who hired him should of told him to turn it down the other people should of let them handle it. They shouldn’t of approached him. The one that shoot him shot him too many times for one shot him get. I want to know what is the procedure when people are hurt are you calling the ambulance and then police or your calling police first, Jamaica is backwards when they call for help. The police shouldn’t be transferring people to the hospital the ambulance is supposed to get the people stable while on the way to the hospital.

My understanding is there were other guest at the venue who were not part of the wedding. And they asked the owners to turn down the music. And that's what the whole argument was about. If I'm staying at a hotel i would want to be able to have my peace and quiet. Especially if it's late. We already know when island people party. It's party till morning lol.

Thank you SouFlo …thank you ….however I have been at events where this has happened …no gun shooting thought …..if THE OWNER came and said the music was too loud ..maybe the music was too loud …I understand that it is a celebratory event however the DJ could've also agree to comply..it is a business ….he is a DJ..which means that he probably played there before and would've played there again .. I work for a rental office and get complaints all the time for noise…. .people feel because they are in their house ( example) they can play their music as loud as they want …. neighbors have called police on each other …and the truth of the matter is ..at least in NYC ..you cannot play you music as loud as you want even in your apartment ..there are laws etc…now ..I don't know these people"s situation….it is sad all around ….and true though we may not have all the details …there was probably a better way to handle this ..

the reason you think are even saying Jamaica need to give guns are let every one have gun and the training to use them ,is because you font know that Jamaica is still English territory, and in the mother land even knife is band in most place, there will neve a time when jamaican can own guns until Jamaica us independent, it is still a slave run country most of you are ashamed to admit that fact,
