There was an elegance to the bridal parties. No deep cleavage, no straps, no tattoos on shoulders/arms. A dignity brought to the occasion.
Bridal floral crowns were clearly very popular back then
Ugh..ghastly!..lol..
I must be the only one who thinks makeup would really help a lot of these women out. And the style in the 20s for women was so frumpy
Back when marriage and vows really meant something.
Men worked to take care of their families and none hurt or
abused their kids and wives. So sad now that women don't have
that security and an old woman who is sick and alone must find
a place to live after being promised so many years ago that would never happen.
huge boquets
None of our photos of average people will matter in 100 years bc there are so many pics of people taking photos of every second of their life. Just a thought.
Music?
I just wonder how many of those giant bouquets were for hiding the reason for a wedding ? I do genealogy. I have read way too much . LOL !
women were ugly
Would loved to have lived in the 1920s. The 1900s were so different. I was born in 1978. Sighs.
Some are holding a Hedge..
Only black people never got married. I only see white people
All I see is men standing next to other men….
What strikes me is the large groups of people who appear to be family, friends etc. Today family doesn't seem to be as important. Society has become more fragmented.
1:35 only couple who look remotely interested in each other.
These photos may be very nice, however MY Grandparents (bridal attendees) from 1925 have them ALL beat !!! They were TOO gorgeous !!!! I can prove it, too !
love the head dressingss, huge bouquets and garden wedding venues, very elegant and timeless
Didn't they know how to cut flowers back then?
Many of those women would have had deformed feet from being crushed into those pointed shoes that have little relation to normal anatomy. It was seen as aristocratic to have narrow feet. Just sickening.
The hats and veils are so simple but beautiful.
I was born way too late . Absolutely lovely!
This is amazing, I loved watching this. Beautiful dresses and bouquets. They didn't smile much though did they!
Loved these pictures! Thanks!!!
Nothing but white people…

No, culture???

Assuming most of them where born in the late 1890s and early 1900s its sad that they are probably all dead by now.
I to a antique store where they had beautiful elegant wedding albums in black and white from back in the days and they were actually for sale. Albums of many pictures look this so beautiful all black and white just beautiful. they closed the antique store they moved out of town if not I would have continued going there buying stuff, they really did had beautiful thing from back in the days.

Beautiful.
Not fair to make me teary-eyed ….
Thank you for sharing these stunning photos. How times have changed.
I always wonder how many of those families would not like their family pictures being out in public. Photo albums sold at quick sales and markets, or by relatives out to make a buck, or an estate sale. Some have even won contests for pix which were saved from trash, not meant for divers to unearth. Respect needed for the dead? Who can say.
Many people were still virgins on their wedding day back then.
Que lindas…os buquês são enormes…
As noivas se escondiam atrás de seus enormes buquês!
some of those gals look old!
How beautifully romantic!! I guess the reason why they were not smiling was because they had nothing to smile about.
This was the era my grandparents married. In reality, it really wasn't that long ago.
Awww. The fashions back then, also little moneybut hard working men, massive boquets made up of Ferns and Foliage with around 12 Flowers, very grand they felt back then.
