Absolutely magnificent
Great project and as always amazing craftsmanship. To keep the leather looking good use Obenaufs LP. Cabelas typically carries it. Works great on gloves and boots too.
You should be so proud of the channel you’ve built. I can’t give praise from an expert opinion as I’m new to joinery myself, but you’ve been a huge source of information, inspiration and general interest to me. I watch from England and dream of owning a workshop like yours one day. Thank you for keeping a consistently great flow of enjoyable videos, and for keeping my motivation going!
plans from woodprix are awesome!
Awesome project. I really want to get into leather.
Chris… You really are amazing. You wow me!
how long does that take to finish the whole thing?
That’s a lot of drilling. 😳. Beautiful work!
Are you sure you are not japanesse?
Very nice……I am hoping to use more leather on my barnwood pieces….can’t wait to see what else you do with it
One thing I like to do to even out my dye on the leather is to pre moist the leather. Just to put a little water (not soaking it), when once the dye is on the leather use a rag and rub it down with rubbing alcohol. It will help the dye penetrate the leather deeper and even out the color. This was an awesome project, one that I might have to try myself! Great Job!
Paasché single action airbrush works wonderfully with leather dye.
Great work as always, thanks for the content
It turned out beautifully. Congratulations.
Thanks for sharing this with us.
Nice job Chris, I've started leather work and man I felt your pain on that stitching….take so much time but it's worth it.
Great job sir! Truly fantastic! +1 Recommendation for Leodis Leather – great videos! Also, I noticed the cover flexed a little bit and wanted to warp up. If you contact cement some fabric or thin leather on the inside as a liner, it might help counteract that and also give a nice finished look. Bravo though! Truly amazed at the finished piece!
Wow…well done!
Nice camera shots in the dark at the carving. Enjoyed 🙂
Very nice, TCC !! I want to add some leather working to some of my projects also. Well done!
Your beard is quite astonishing
Looks awesome! Love the texture on the front cover.
Wet your leather thru and thru and dye it while still wet
Great project! Just pointing out that that isn't how contact cement works. 😛 If you let the two surfaces dry for 5-15 minutes ( weldwood works well at 15) then the pieces bond together instantly, no clamps needed. Not sure how strength is going to differ not letting it dry to tack beforehand, but it is designed to work the way I described. Other than that, all other leather pointers were already in the comments before me, so that about covers it.
I think you made your video awesome. you can learn a lot from it. I am always happy to see new things from you. Thank you for the good video. Would be glad, if you would also visit my channel. I give you "DAUMEN HOCH" AND ABONNEMENT" Greetings from Ralph
awesome project and it came out great, well done.
This is amazing work. Gives me some ideas for next Christmas.
