As you saw from the video,Mckay Jaffe’s art is beyond anything from what most people see; his art carries uncensored, realistic, and emotional undertones. Through his photography, he expresses his raw thoughts and visions through wildly colored and contrasted or dark and simplistically made photos. I managed to interview via Facebook, one question I asked him was: “Do you believe art should be suppressed?” He responded with this: “Do I believe art should be suppressed? I’m not sure it’s something you can choose or believe in that it has to be or doesn’t have to be, it’s a party of the process. People wouldn’t make art without conflict. Whether political, emotional, physical pain, or pleasure, these are what people want to express. And if they are being suppressed in some way, the art will reflect that. I don’t look at it as a negative or dispensable, but more as a part of the system that is progression, aka art.” This inspires me, and hopefully millions to follow in his footsteps, not to copy his concepts, but to share their own stories, experiences, and thoughts through art. Whether it’s the ugly truth, or a beautiful lie, viewers will be left at a standstill, pondering their thoughts.
