40 HISTORICAL PHOTOS THEY DIDN’T SHOW YOU IN HIGH SCHOOL

28 46

Human history is truly a swinging pendulum of ups and downs. The centuries have been sprinkled with both terrible, bleak events, and beautiful hopeful moments.

Since the invention of the photograph, those events and moments have been recorded for us, allowing us a window into a time that we never actually got to see for ourselves.

Many of these photographs, such as the tragic crash of the Hindenburg or the famous kissing sailor on V-J Day, are iconic and well-known. Here, we have compiled 40 lesser-known (but just as compelling) moments in history, images that you might not have seen before.

That money from the titanic is worth a thousand times its face value at least. A "rare color photograph from the civil war". You are obviously stupid. Very, very stupid.

So called Custer Massacre wasn't so at all…An American Army officer made some tactical errors that day, due to impetuousness I think…He was trying to make a name for himself, as I think he had a mind to run for president….His first mistake was splitting the troops under his command, into two bodies…One led by himself, and the other by Maj.Marcus Reno….Custer had underestimated , (due to erroneous intel) , the number, and lethality of the Native Americans he sneak attacked that day…come to find out, it was probably the greatest encampment of Native warriors in North America, and many were were armed with new repeating rifles, like Henry…while the cavalry were armed with single shot Springfield rifles….so due to the fact of overconfidence, arrogance and narcissism, up against a numerically superior fighting force with advanced weapons….It was inevitable and the army command was overpowered and killed to the last man…should never bite off more than you can chew…That battle, in 1876, was the pinnacle of Native American power in that time and location….It started rapidly declining after that and was finished off at the Wounded Knee Massacre (not battle) in 1890….an act of revenge for Custers defeat at the Little Big Horn 14 years earlier. Viewing American history through the eyes of Native Americans, tells a completely different story…History is usually always written by the conquerors, never the ones vanquished and subjugated…A good read is "Bury my heart at Wounded Knee" by Dee Brown…The view of the indigenous peoples of North America
