You are artist martin.thanks for wonderful video..
Where is the book on Sale?
Absolutely LOVE IT!!!
Beautiful treatment in post. What did you use?
Martin thanks for sharing not only your great photographs but also your thoughts and how you see it. Most interesting and thought provoking. I know I will watch this video more than once there is so much in it. Regards Ken
These are beautiful photographs but I'm curious, why choose digital? This photos seem to be mostly showing age, buildings that being hardy and resisting decay and the elements.
In my opinion, film would be the look for me.
Very sensitive and insightful work, Martin. The terrain is eerily familiar to me, as it is quite similar to the interior deserts of my country (California). I think you communicated the stated intent of the body of work very well, and executed it likewise.
Was this filmed at 10FPS?
As Andy said below, this is a wonderful video, thank you for making it. I also find it inspirational for my own work.
Thank you for the opportunity to view your video Martin, it was truely inspirational for me as a photographer. Like you I just love shooting subjects like these. Their soul & character just draws you in….
Love your work. Modern consumerism creates jobs. Jobs lift people out of poverty. The yin and yang of life I suppose.
I get what you were going for, but the 15 fps video just made me vaguely uncomfortable.
Lovely photos!
Beautiful video and photographs, love your Abandoned series.
Awesome Sir,Bravo
enjoy this video very much have watched it twice & want to buy the book. Is it on Amazon ?
Thankyou for the insight into your work 🙂
Very nice, Martin. I really enjoy the abandon things photography theme. Not only is there the enjoyment of a nicely crafted photograph, but the mind is forced to wander back to a time when the item or structure was new and the owners excited about ownership. Many items like autos, etc. simply wear out, but houses, on the other hand, are abandoned. Somewhere along the way, the spirit of the owners died and no one followed to keep the spirit of the structure alive. They then slowly wither and fall apart like a tree without water.
To be honest, I don't care for your post-processing at all. Looks amateurish and way overdone. And your ego seems to be a bit swollen for the level of work you're producing. I guess things are a bit different for you now, being in South Africa and all.
I really love this video, the concept and the style… I only have 2 months with a camera and really want to become a Fine Art Photographer and this inspire me so much!
Thank you very much Martin!!!
Don't see the connection between your intention to highlight the negative aspects of consumerism and the subject matter. This simply boils down to you taking very stylised photographs which you then SELL to CONSUMERS with a signature and a little sticky label.
Love your philosophy. Nice work!
Great work. I have an affinity for the "abandoned" as well. For me that also sometimes includes people. Inspires me in my particular photographic passion as well. rmathisphotography.format.com
Im new to taking photography…but have taken pic's all my life…how does he film thru his camera while he's shooting…and how is it filmed in black and white…or maybe it's not black and white, maybe it's sepia
way too jerky mate….. gave me sea sickness.
Excellent video and collection, really inspirational
Very impressive, moody work. Thanks for the inspiration, and best of luck.
You speak my heart Martin. You are where I want to be. Others do not understand this unless they have the same heart. So much said in a photograph….so many unspoken words…..silently yet with pride! Well done.
nice 9 fps
This is the most beautiful 10 minute commercial I have ever seen. Loved the filter…perfect for the mood of abandonment.
Wonderful art, great photograps!
Beautiful
Fantastic work and dedication.
