I love your videos, but could you maybe talk a little slower as i miss so much.
WOW! Learned something new today on the envelope. Gonna have to try that. I do have and envelope punch but this is a fast way to throw one together and there isn't much to figure out on the measurements. Beautiful cards.
I have watched this tutorial several times and I like the card so much, it hurts :)))
Could you use gelatos on the photo paper?
That was the absolute best envelope tutorial I've ever seen without using a template or envelope cutter. Thumbs up!
I luv ur personality. Pls don't grow up & lose that fun approach to things. Your videos always cheer me up when I'm in pain &/or discouraged. Luv ur demos. Jewell
Wonderful idea to use photo paper with your markers. Your cards look so lovely! I noticed that you were touching the photo paper with your hand after you made the card. Will finger marks occur on your beautiful card creation?
I would have scanned both sides before I used the original page so I would always have an image of the side I didnt use
Love your card…those colors are so pretty, together
These cards are simply gorgeous!! I love to watch artists and crafters whose style is totally different from mine. When I watch Lindsay create, I prepare myself for a journey and I completely relax. And most of the time I know, I`m in for an adventure. Thank you for all your wonderful, priceless and timeless inspiration. Josi
I went back for a reference on this one. Today I stamped my design on photo paper using black dye ink. I couldn't get it to dry. An hour later, it still smeared. I even used my heat gun. Did you use water based markers? My new Ohuhu markers smeared the black. All in all I ended with a hot mess and it went in the trash. Okay, what did I do wrong?? Frustrated to say the least. By the way, I'm disappointed with the Ohuhu markers. Some are really juicy, others are hardly usable. They were very inexpensive, so I guess sometimes ya get what ya pay for. Just thought I'd let you know since you reviewed them recently and might appreciate feedback. I'm done now!
Beautiful unique cards love them thank u
Much fun as always. Thanks!
Really great tutorial Lindsay and a huge THANK YOU for the envelope tip…TFS!
What a striking card!! I never knew why they made such light colored pens. Now I do. You teach me so much. I just thank you for all of the creativity you have stimulated in me.
Again, you are wonderful! I have this paper and now know how to use it. Also have a fish Stamp!
👍👍👍
Beautiful! You made that so fast. I'm so indecisive I take way too long to make a card. Can I have just a pinch of your energy?
Try your distress oxides on photo paper then wipe with baby wipe. Oh my!
Lindsay, I can't tell you how much I enjoy watching your videos, you are very inspiring. Never imagined the amount of money one could spend if I didn't watch your lessons in frugal purchasing or crafting. Look forward to every video. Hope to someday meet you, whether it's at your store in Maine or at a Stamp Show.
Thank you, I have lots of photo paper and am not sure how to use it. Fun, Fun, Fun.
I love your videos and have been watching you for years! You are an awesome artist, fun and watching you always brightens my day. I do miss Elaine and Kathy and your "Ask a Crafter" segments. Thanks for continuing to teach and entertain. Big hugs.
Okay. Let me say this must be witchcraft! This video just can't be real. LOL YOU ARE AMAZING!! This video and card just blew me away. All I did was google "cards with glossy cardstock" and I found you and this video. By the time you were putting on the shaggy twine and how it matched the seaweed I thought my mind was just gonna blow! AMAZING. Thanks for the envelope instruction. Love it. So glad I found ya and can't wait to go back and watch old videos and look forward to new!! I'm officially a new, dedicated subscriber. WooHoo
Great card! Thanks.
Gotta try this. Love the colors.
thats a beautiful card, and I will definately try this. Great idea, as always!
Wonderful…now i know what to else i can do with my photo paper..thanks
Is that stamp pad alcohol based? I heard you say it was a dye, not pigment.
Is there an easy way to tell which pads are alcohol based vs water based?
I recall seeing a video you did where you talked about different brands of stamp pads, comparing them so you could tell which ones would stay put & not smear with watercolors, and with alcohol inks/pens too I think?
When shopping, even in the stores, yet especially online, many ink pads don't say what their base is!
It would seem alcohol based used with water shouldn't run, yet some prolly still do, and water-based should stay (or might?) if using alcohol over them?
Pigments sit on top, so dyes Might be preferred, BUT pigments tend to be lightfast, dyes not as much.
It would be great if they put what you can use over them without smears (& be accurate!), but it seems illusive!
Any idea which video the stamp comparisons are in?
I'm going to have to try some of these stamps for cards one day! I have quite a few stamps I've bought over about a year! Time to start using them!!!
I have a few mini stamp pads, but don't know which they'll stay put with (if either water or alcohol!)
I've used acrylic paints with home made foam stamps, but they aren't great with stamps that have intricate designs.
I'd love yo use some with watercolors, some with alcohol inks, but prolly need to buy the right kind…
ideally one that's light-fast that I can use with either watercolors or alcohol inks over them, or under them!
Thanks! I want to check out those fish stamps! Very pretty!
To make use of the second side of the two-sided paper: scan it with a color scanner and print it out! This is a great way to capture patterned paper that can't be found any more. Of course, you don't want to do this with any project for sale, only for personal use, due to copyright issues. Thanks for all the tutorials; I used to play with all this years ago, but I lost motivation and inspiration for a long while. Now I'm ready to jump in again, and these clever and frugal techniques are sparking ideas in my head. You've got a new subscriber!
I bought some cheap photo paper at Dollar Tree a long time ago just because it was there. I had no idea what to do with it – now l know!! Thanks Lindsay. Hugs…
