I love your idea about the CD in the photo book. I use Shutterfly all the time and I was currently struggling with should I print pictures or make photo books. My question for you is when you make your book on Shutterfly do you burn the CD straight from your Shutterfly file or do you burn the CD before you create your book I’ve always struggled trying to get my pictures off of Shutterfly if I’m not printing them or putting them in a book.

I like scrapbooking but this is a nice idea for those who don't. These are nice albums though, my in-laws love them as gifts. Thanks for the CD flap idea.

This is so borderline genious!! I love your videos _ nothing better than the dollar store and a cheap deal!

Great ideas!  My goal for new year: one for family, one for my graduating Senior, one son.  Photos are all on flash drive & we never see pics.  Love the envelope in back for memorabilia & display of book.  Thanks!

Your videos are forwarded to my three daughters so we can implement your very helpful ideas. Thanks for assisting me to "train them up in the way they should go". We homeschooled our five children and I never made time for photo albums. Now FB is our photo album but we sure do love books and this will be a wonderful project for my girls to work on together  🙂

Great idea about the disc in each book to store photos!! Going to do that from now onwards. Thanks!

  14. Kate says

As usual you came up with a fantastic way to display your pictures. I was amazed!
Last night I had just watched your plastic bin collection and arrangement  and went right to the Dollar Tree and bought some and reorganized my space better.
Now I am looking into this great method you're showing here. Thanks again.

Well, I just found out i'm going to be a new nana for the 4th time, yet ANOTHER boy! But I will certainly tell step the mom about this idea and when Jackson Lee is born she can start making book after book as she also love's photo's! I wished they had these when I was having my boy's…..I did the take forever, over priced scrapbook's for them, what a headache!

  21. Erika Harkey says

I just got started digital scrap booking using Photoshop Elements. I was a traditional scrapbooker and now I see that digital is the way to go! Less time consuming and and much less expensive.

I love your videos and agree that Shutterfly is AWESOME. I am also super frugal and these are so worth the price. Also love the coos of your little guy in the background. Super cute. Thanks for taking the time to post your tips! Doris

Good video. Can you help me with knowing how to get print photos changed into digital photos? The scanners I see that are meant for fast scanning (not flatbeds) are pretty pricey. The only other option I know of is Wal Mart photo center scanning.

  26. CallumsMama says

Could you do a photo organization video for photos that are already printed? I have hundreds of photos printed from at-home photos in 4×6 size, and from when we went to have pictures done professionally. None are in albums or frames and they just sit in the packages collecting dust because I can't seem to find a way to organize them. In the past I started throwing them into albums but I ended up with mismatched albums and albums which were too small to fit all of the photos that needed to fit.

  27. Liz Lorant says

HI! I just recently found your channels and LOVE them!! You are amazing! Do you find that these photo books are kind of time consuming to put together? I have looked into them, but it seems overwhelming to put one together. How long does it take you to do one?

  28. Julie Tann says

Brill:) The only thing that would bother me are that the pages aren't protected from fingerprints etc. Do they make page protectors that fit the books?

    The pix look lovely:)

  32. Do It On A Dime says

Shutterfly sells the back pocket and I bought a huge pack of the CD cases from Target for just a few bucks.

  33. Do It On A Dime says

    Love it.

  34. Do It On A Dime says

I saw that was one of the rewards! Cool. The spare room is a guest room which has been super occupied currently.

  35. Do It On A Dime says

I wrote descriptions/memories on each of the pages using text in the Shutterly Program. There are hundreds of pictures… 1-8 a page!

  36. Do It On A Dime says

I store them in a buffet table in the dining room. I didn't mention this in the video, but because these albums are so slim, storage is a breeze!

  37. Do It On A Dime says

    Aw, thanks Anna!

  38. Do It On A Dime says

    Congrats to your daughter!

  39. Do It On A Dime says

If you have lots of memorabilia it's probably best to have a separate binder just for that, and if it's just a few things, the method in this video works well. Your breakup of time for the books sounds perfect to me!

  40. Do It On A Dime says

Yes you can. Just make sure that you have purchased the copyright to the images from your photographer. 🙂

  41. Do It On A Dime says

    woohoo 🙂
