Apologies for the sound at the start of the video. I uploaded a version that hadn’t been sorted. When I discovered this I didn’t then wanted to reupload as had many great comments. Won’t make the same mistake again! Thanks for watching
Wow. I found myself taking notes! A lot to take in but very worthwhile. I find a struggle between intuiting an image where the composition works and constructing a composition, rationally. Thanks so much for the effort you put into making these tutorials. I'm going to check out your composition ebook!
Da PUPPY
Great Video. Good Info 🙂 thank you
Amazing video! What is the name of the song in the intro, please?
Does a small point of interests work? Like the sheep's which didn't had any contrast with the walls, and I really thought them as walls. And another sheep line in the foggy view or the villages in the golden gate photo.
Help me figure this out.
Excellent video, thanks for uploading Nigel, you're an inspiration.
Thanks Nigel!! I find that I have a lot of trouble with my ultra wide lenses. I end up taking a lot of compressed telephoto images instead. Perhaps the environments I’ve been shooting (mountains in the distance) just seem to lend themselves better to a tele lens. However, I’m still trying to get better with the wide angle. Perhaps because I am a published bird and wildlife photographer as my first passion, which gets me more familiar with the tele look. Thanks for the help and I’ll keep on using your suggested techniques to take advantage of the wide angles. Also, what kind of dog? Irish setter? Thanks!
A good composition isn’t always made by following some kind of rule ! Don’t forget that.
But strong composition knowledge is still very important
Great tips and really easy to follow. Love the way you deliver the message with such perfect examples. Bravo!
My man, I don't mean any disrespect, but I have some constructive criticism that I think your viewers would benefit from. I realize you have good intentions with trying to teach and provide examples, but some of it just doesn't click well and get committed to memory. I think part of the reason for that is because your examples are very relatable. You're examples are a lot of highlights through your years of photography and traveling. Many viewers have to work with what is in their day to day life, which isn't crazy mountain ranges or the golden gate bridge. Maybe going out and reshooting in your local hometown would be easier for people to grasp the concepts and prove you don't need insane landscapes to take good photos, all the while challenging you as a photographer. Just my two cents.
great videos and tutorials. thank you very much. can u say, which soft u use for fujifilm? LR or C1?
Excellent insights. Thanks.
Absolutely Awesome! You are by far one of the best photographers that explains photography to perfection. I have watched 3 of your utube videos…and WOW! Thankyou so much! I loved your video here, Thankyou! Extremely helpful in so many ways! I am so impressed by the quality and the details in the explanation of your composition style, you are just fabulous…I am so thankful to have found you here on Utube! You are amazing in the way you express and bring understanding to so many in how to compose your photo~! Just Fabulous!!!!
Angels landing was the most fun scary hike I have ever been on.
Love that foggy tree photo! Great video, thanks for sharing.
Wonderful photos and tips. thank you!
I dont actually think 12:52 works at all. the trees look cut off and are distracting from the main attraction which is the rainbow. And the two white triangles in the water distract more than they manage to guide your eye towards the center. other than that very informative video.
When you talked about taking your time finding a great composition at a scene, one thing crossed my mind and that was the idea of looking for compositions out there even when you're not out shooting (except when you're driving or something, of course).
Very informative video, thanks! Looking forward to learning to apply these techniques.
my friend says that you are panilithios so se gamaw kasvlaei kasvlakako legkeni Worst protograper YT..:(?! vagana

You are such a great man and a great mentor. Thank you very much.
Greetings from Ciudad de México.
Holy crap, you gave me actual tips. I can really relate to the 2D/3D thing, nature looks so magical to me and i really wish i could capture it the way i see it with a camera. Do you have any tips on how to capture fog better though?
Thank you. SO helpful <3
Good on you Nigel, learned a lot from this video. Thumbs up from Marty’s Garden
This is a very good and helpful tutorial. Thanks a lot for the effort!
Great video Nigel, thousand thanks. Also, the scenography and music. May I know the singer & song in the introduction?
To have the Basic Principles of Image Composition so clearly explained and demonstrated by your stunning images is so refreshing. Thank you Mr Danson. I will come back to this excellent tutorial over and over again.
tnx for the great tips, you got an other subriber added to your list
Thanks for the video. Q1 do you typically compose “wider”’with a plan to crop in later or for the kill the first time? Q2 your photos have tremendous amount of details. What cameras (MP) do you use?
i love your work !!!
Wow! Excellent composition advice! Your examples are very helpful too!
Thank you, Nigel, for your easy-to-follow commentary. Your delivery and logic are superb. Photography is about passion, which is an attribute you demonstrate very clearly here.
Hi Nigel, your video's are very good, informative and easy to grasp, just signed up for your newsletter. hello from South Australia.
Accent 😍😍😎🤗
GOOD JOB
I'm not British so I've wondered what type of accent you have? I very much enjoy videos! Thanks
Strangely your most successful image is the only one of all the images in the video that don't like very much. Somehow the water doesn't work as foreground for me and thus the whole image doesn't work. No offence. On the other hand, the crop from your snapshot is one of the best. So it might as well just be me. 😉
Audio is so choppy
Fantastic tips. Thanks for sharing this.
I like your ideas, but you gotta learn how to edit your video first…
ur very helpful things I look for but now I can see how to look for them in different situations
Really great and informative video. Thank you so much for sharing your tips! Also the music is totally awesome 😍
Checkout this, may be you want it..
Thanks Nigel! What drone are you using for the overhead shots? Couldn’t find in the description thanks!
Thanks for the lesson, much appreciated!
I thought the sound was just fine at the beginning 🙂 This is awesome. Thanks!
One of the best tips in photography, thank you.
Your photos are breathtaking! Thanks for sharing this 🙂
