How Photography Can Help Stroke Victims

8 40

This is going to be a different type of video for us – I’ll be talking about how photography can help people recover from strokes. We’re inviting Maureen O’Sullivan-Day into our studio to tell us her story. This is a really important video as it shows the power creative art has in aiding the recovery from strokes.

Any revenue gained from this video will be donated to the Stroke Association to help further research into stroke recovery.

Recently I made a vid about how photography helps me cope with my depression. I had never thought about how it could help other's with various medical conditions outside of that. But when I think about it, it really makes sense.

What a great story. I must admit that since taking your online course I definitely look at things in different way, thanks and good luck to Maureen.

Seeing many stroke victims come through the a&e I work in, I see how medication can help patients who have suffered strokes but I don’t see what happens after as patients get moved on, it’s great to see someone come out the other side and find something to help trigger the brain. Glad this has been posted

I don't know what your name is but I love you. Thank you for this video. I am still watching it but I am crying as I use photography to get over horrendous chronic pain. I use strong medication daily to be able to function. My wife encouraged me to spend enormous amounts of money for our family budget, when I resisted (being responsible for family financial being) she told me:" I have never seen you so happy as when you take pictures". So I did, and I am very happy.
I have liked you from the first time I saw you about two weeks ago. THANK YOU. You are a gentle soul. I am just overwhelmed… sorry about the emotions.

This is important to more people than those who have had strokes. Anyone who has had a loss of confidence through bullying at work, anyone who has been undermined by colleagues, anyone who needs to rebuild a structure for going forward. Look to creative arts.
