A initially learned photography as a kid shooting black & white then developing the photos in a dark room, that was a magical time and sparked my interest in photography. As I got older I dabbled in digital photography but wasn't until my kids were born that i really started to get an active interest back in it all.

Lots of negative flak already, but I encourage you to continue doing what you are doing. Please take all the comments in the right spirit. High ISO beyond 200 when using a Flash during the day is a Strict "NO". That's why your pictures are looking bland without depth. Get the flash working and use High-speed sync. Start with TTL and get out of Aperture priority or shutter priority and shoot Manual.
Use the shutter to control the background ambient and flash/aperture for exposure on the subject. That's the best advice I can give. Peace.
I stop watching when I saw iso 1,000 😭
First of all, these negative comments… so unnecessary. This guy gives great tutorials and is very clear and helpful. It's aimed towards beginners I think, and I found this very easy to follow. Also, the model reminds me of myself in high school lol
I am sorry, your photography leaves a lot to be desired.
Not good… This fellow should stick to landscapes and leave the seniors to those with a clue.
This is in Rexburg
this is not not very good
bruhhhhh omg wtf
I now see why this guy focuses on landscape photography.
this vid recommended really? camera should be in manual , iso 200 tops, use the shutter to control the daylight and aperture to control flash the pictures look flat, why are you not using high speed sinc whats with the mad high iso ?thsi isn't the way to go. visit Adorama Tv i think sorry .
What lens do you like to use on seniors? I like the 85mm.
Well done! Good job!
1/800 of a second ISO?? 3:27 Idont know that move /b/ro
With those ISO settings, how are the shots not just blown out? I'm just getting into lighting and bought two Paul C Buff Einstein 640's and when I've tried to use one of them outside with a softbox I set my ISO really low and almost the same settings on the light at 250 speed but with 100 ISO and it seems to be really bright in the shade. Any suggestions. I'm wanting to get more dramatic type shots..Thanks in advance. Thanks for video's, just found you and subscribed.
…and when you had Haley in the wheat field, why didn't you try a shot with her back to the sun, and use flash to overpower the sun?
You're really not "afraid" of those high ISO's? Was it dusk, or you just wanted a brighter background?
great shots!! who is that model?
Great job Jim. Love the pictures
She's so uncomfortably awkward
Love it
