Google Pixel 3 -vs- Samsung Galaxy S9: Fifty Camera Photo Comparisons (Obvious Winner here!)
I had to re-upload this video cause for some reason all the photos looked as if it was softened. So here you go:
Here is a side by side comparison (no post edit) between the Google Pixel 3 and the Samsung Galaxy S9. I take 50 photos each using both the back side and front (selfie) side camera. I also took photos on both phones (front and back camera) using that effect that makes the background blurry. Google Pixel calls if portrait mode (same as iPhone) and the Samsung Galaxy calls it the selective focus mode.
Well… which phone takes better overall photos?

likes for the music. Good comparison, thanks for the effort.
Both great phones. As a s9 owner I could have made some of the lighter pics darker with the S9 pro mode which I dont think was used in this comparison
Bo-key it's pronounced Bo-key…
Have a s9 plus. Amazing phone for everday use except everytime i pull it out to take photos , my iphone, even one plus user friends bash at the "shitty color grading and details" and that shit hits like hell.
2:14 says it all that bokeh on the pixel 👍👋😎
umm everyone saying pixel won, but the sad truth is they're both very close (the pixel 3 slightly better) but let's talk about price, the google pixel is like 300$ more, so it all comes down to one thing, if you want a good quality phone, samsung is always the way to go they never disappoint us there and if you want a slightly better camera and you got the cash then buy the Pixel 3, so with all that being said… if you wanna spend the extra 300$ for a slightly better camera, or if you want a very similar camera (almost the same) and a good processor etc.. fOr a good price then s9 is the way to go!
USE G CAM ON S9 PLUS
Samsung has less details
So close it really depends on what phone you like, Samsung or pixel
Pixel is better. S9+ seems to be a lot "beauty".
Stupid beauty mode…
I prefer the s9 because on the s9, you can adjust the brightness bar and you'll get the same details as the pixel 3 without it being as dark as the pixel 3.
U work for Samsung 😂✌
pixel 3 appears to have more range and doesn't flatten out the subject as much, especially in shadows.
Too much overexposure with the s9. I think out of the top flagship phones, the video quality on the Samsung phones are top notch, but pictures are something they have a long way to go on. Pixel 3 video quality is pretty good, and the stabilization (based on YT videos) seems better than most, but their pictures are on a whole other level. The build/design of the phone I give to s9. Battery life, slight edge to the s9. Native android, fast updates go to the Pixel 3.
I prefer reality (Pixel 3) over fake fantasy (S9 plus) .
Can you off the beauty mode for samsung s9?
Yours S9 is fake. The real did not shoot like that !
Both are good. I think the Samsung tends to wash out the colours too much.
this photos are not taken with same settings … anybody who knows anything about photography can see that … it's like comparing apples and oranges … reshoot the video with proper comparison cause this is ridiculous to watch
Seems like the Pixel 3 front camera is a lot better, while the assumed rear shots are a lot more close (ignoring the overexposure of some of them). Certain situations, the rear Pixel camera is way to underexposed (easy to fix but in a point and shoot comparison…) while the s9 is way over. It'd be more interesting to see all of the comparisons made in a pro setting with each shot being adjusted right vs the auto hdr and auto exposure. Sometimes the Pixel appears oversaturated and sometimes the s9 appears oversaturated, I feel the pro setting on each would even out all of these issues. Overall though, that Pixel front camera has amazing detail! I always use my rear camera for selfies, I wouldn't have to with a Pixel! But the phone isn't sleek in my eyes.
Samsung looks like some cheap Chinese phone… I have s9+ and can confirm that photos are crap. My old iPhone 6 plus has nicer pics
S9 plus wins again
Pixel 3 nailed it!!
i dont like the google pixel phone, but how the fuck is this camera so fuckin good, it is better the galaxy, iphone or any other phone on the market, i wish the s9 had that good camera
S9 wins!
Bad.. no zoom pic nothing
It’s like the pixel pushes up the contrast. Would say Samsung looks more accurate in terms of color. but I like the detail in the faces on pixel 3.
Pixel 3, the champ😁
1:51 when you forget to take a second photo, so you just mirror it and change the exposure haha
Thanks for sharing this video. I have the S9 and I'm not too happy with the pictures and from your video I can see that the pixel is slightly better. Some pictures looked very similar but most of the selfies looked much better on the pixel than on S9. I wish you had some pictures in low light and indoors light cause the S9 selfies when taken with flash on the pictures are a bit blurry compared with flash on auto which is very strange, so I really wanted to see how pixel low pics look flash, no flash etc in low light conditions.
